I took a facebath in a salatbowl tonight. Why? Because of Gerti, who says she likes my waterpictures. So here is a new one for you.

I miswhitebalanced on purpose to give the castle a funky look.

Hurt.
I won't tell the world why, just that is has nothing to do with my wife. If I look inside, its me. This picture was taken after my emotions shifted from anger to a melancholic sadness.

Bulbs in love.
I saw this lamp tonight and had enough people shots from yesterdays streetphotography day. So I shot some deatails and composed them together - a little ps a change.

Ivana - the tigress. I met her at the friday - busstation and she was cold. I guess she decided to jump because she likes to move - she is a tennis coach. So here she goes. I really like the intensity of the look and must say, she seems to have alot of talent as a model - we did seven shots and were done. Wow.
Thank you for beeing my model today and hope your evening continued to get better.

Sometimes you don't need a flash. We always hang thes up in winter. They are called chinese lantern (Physalis alkekengi) and grow in our front garden. Even other people in the street ask for them. We cut the "cherry" out with nailscissors and fil in the xmas lamps. Here you go, chinese mini lanterna.

Real life photography. Simon is sick after our exiting weekend with friends. He fell asleep on our couch. What you see is homeopathic medicine and our sick manikin, who comes out of the orange sickbox and helps cure sick children. Get well soon, Simon.
I remember well beeing sick as a child and it was a mixture of being looked after a bit more than usual and some special stuff (like extra comics or so) which were the pleasant side of it.
I have the permission to shoot him sleeping, so don't worry.
Light: 580EX with ¼ CTS, ¼ power, 24mm in a 60m gridded softbox, 80cm from his head, slightly higher than his head pointing down a bit and turned away from the couch, to make a contrasty picture,

Being quite tired (see yesterday) after talking, laughing and playing a lot at our friends house we walked over the fun fair today. My shoes were not warm enough, so a fire and wool socks (I almost never wear wool socks, just for art) can be a mans relief.
This shot was harder than a thaught it would be. It is a mixture of slow shutter and flash, me having my tripod on my stomach etc.
Light: 580EX 1/16 power, 24mm in a 60cm grided softbox from 4:30,
SB26 with 1,5 CTS 1/64 power, 24mm from under my feet (slightly grilled)

Say no to drugs…
We are spending the night with our friends playing boardgames and stuff. Then I asked Luccio and Janka to pose for me (don't worry, they don't smoke shisha … - but the thing was standing around for the beauty of it…) - so here they are to warn our and their children :-))
Light: 580EX 1/16 in a lumiquest III from under the camera, gobo betweeen table and Flash, Sb26 ¼ Power with snoot from 2m high straight above,

Michèle (a stranger) modeled for me at my usual friday busstop after she had sold a lot of bread as a substitute vendor today - she was on her way home.
Thank you for modeling. Send me a Email, if you want your picture.
I was looking for a different look today and shot with an orbis ringlight as key.
Post with a little bleach bypass and then glamour glow (nicks complete color correction).
Light: 580EX with ¼ CTS in a orbis, ETTL cable, and SB26, 1/64 power, 85mm from 2m high behind her @ 1:00, optical triggered

A nice possibility to make some pictures and this is our last Räbelichtliumzug - our kids are growing fast.
LIght: AL, 8sec, f8, Iso 400

I had a little bit of to much words the last few days - I gave a solution oriented conversation technic seminar with a college during the last thee days and am quite outpowered now. So thats how I feel write now, words are mixed up in my picture reflecting my brains condition. No photoshop was used, it is kind of out of cam (some aperture work).
I used my 17-40 lens with a retro-adapter and shot through this prism, the words are in the random paper from under the prism (a paper flying around on my desk).
Light: AL of desk lamp

Joel (21), a stranger I met, is testing his boxing strength with this fair machine. And he is interested to model some more. So please write me an Email, and I will send you more information and / or your picture.
Thank you Joel.

One light setup! You can try, this will be a tough one to reconstruct. It's me, myself and eye with my small selfmade beautydish you might have met here.
Light: 580EX from above, ¼ power, 105mm, ¼ cts, scraping my head from behind 1:00, hitting a reflector bahind camera left high, reflecting into the minibeautydish, which is handheld with no light inside. The CD-ROM is like a mirror, reflecting the reflector on my dark side cheek.
Shot with even a edditional reflector here.

We went to the funfair today and the kids made me ride (specially Simon) the craziest rollercoasters and rides there were - and I was proud that I dared to go and Simon was glad I went with him… he wouldn't have gone allone. So we were 55m high in a ride called rocket hanging upside down, turning in circles, rotating horizontaly etc. - everything ok afterwords, I was just glad Simon didn't fly out his chair, because he just had managed to be the as tall as the requiered hight and I was quit wabbling around in my chair 55m above surface. I couldn't have helped him … fathers nightmare I guess.
I hope Lias won't have nightmares beacause he wanted to go on the ghost train. At the entrance I saw this ghost train employe eating a snac.
I had decided to give an effort to make a Iphone picture of the day, because a DSLR on a fair with children is no fun to hold on to (see text further up) - so I had to decide between this Hipstamatic (iphone app) picture, the ride in the blue hour or this artpiece. The picknick guy won.

This is Kwadwo, blackstar, Kenia Ghana styler.
I saw him in the groceries stores while I was looking for some bread. I waited for him to come out and asked him, if he would model - shure. His college Michael was a perfect light asistant, held my flashlight to be able to focus on his eye, his face was completly in the dark, Thank you Kwadwo (and Michael) - and send me a mail, if you want the picture for facebook or anything.
Making of here.
Light: 580EX ¼ power, 24mm in a lumiquest III from 2m high, 4:30, and a 430EX 1/8 power, 105mm with snoot from 11:00 as rimlight,

Meet Blackyy, Marlin and two other gangmembers of "the block". They are 4 of 402 gangmembers. They want to learn how to fight and members from any culture are welcome. They showed me some secret signs (Blackyy is doing one here, I think it is their sign showing two pistols). They were fun to talk to. Different ages mix up in their group, these four for instance are between 13 and 19 years old.
I chose a rough b/w old style picture edit, because this gang theme evoked some old photo pictures in my head.
There is a funfair going on in town - you might see more of it in the next few days.
Second edit in color
LIght: 430EX with ¼ CTS, ½ power, 105mm bouncing of a wall 9:00

Christin from Zhilmanns farm shop in Biel-Benken, Switzerland. We often shop there, they have vegetables, fruits, homemade bread and cakes, eggs, schnapps, jam and jelly. The shop is frequently visited and you often see the people working inside. At the very moment Christine is cleaning lamb's lettuce.
Light: 580EX with 1/4CTS, 1/8 power, 24mm, bouncing of the wall 9:00 next to Christin, hidden behind the apples, skyport.

Jörg is flyfishing (?!?) at the River Wiese. I shoulden't come to close, because I shouldn't get the hook in my eye - the nose wouldn't be as bad, said Jörg.
He soon moved on, because the big fish aren't byting if the wind called Bise is blowing like today.
Thank you for letting me take a photo - if you want it, send me an Email.
Light: Ambient - 1,5 stops on manual mode, 430EX with ¼ CTS +1ev on a cable from 5:00 handheld.

I think halloween is a dentists invention. It is incredible how much sweets the boys collected, although halloween isen't really a tradition here in Switzerland. Who will eat all this rubish?
Light: SB24 in a 60cm Apollo softbox, ½ power, 3:00, 580Ex in a minibeautydish from 4:00, ¼-⅓ power, Sb26 behind binge eating subject, ½ power, snoot ,
